Job Description

Responsible for performing radiographic procedures using imaging modalities applying prescribed ionizing radiation for diagnostic procedures in the hospital and long term care facilities, on patients of all ages (neonate, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, young adult, adult, geriatric). Operates radiographic equipment, develops film, applies principals of radiation safety for patients, general public and self, evaluates radiographs for technical quality. Exercises professional judgment in the performance of procedures. Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action and initiates life support measures. Aids in the orientation and education of radiology department and hospital staff.  Participates in performance improvement activities to assure highest standards of care.

Job Requirements

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Graduate of accredited Radiologic Technology program. 

Certified in Mammography, meeting requirements to perform mammography as defined in the ACR/FDA/MQSA standards.

License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT). Registry eligible or senior radiologic technology student preparing to take the registry exam.

Experience: Radiologic technology clinical training.

BLS Required
