Beginning March 8, 2021 VISITING HOURS are 9AM to 6PM DAILY

At Irwin County Hospital, we strive to ensure the health and safety of our patients as well as our visitors and staff. With the local reduction of COVID19 cases and continued vaccination programs in place, we have reviewed our visitation policy and are pleased to announce that beginning the week of March 8, 2021 we will be relaxing our previously necessary visitation restrictions. Please see the following:

All visitors MUST WEAR A MASK while in the facility. UPON ENTERING THE HOSPITAL, Visitorswill be required to check in at admissions, where temperature and symptom review will be obtained on entrance to the facility. Visitor temperature check sticker should be applied and be easily visible to staff. ANYONE WITHFEVER OR CHILLS, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR DIFFICULTY BREATHING, FATIGUE, BODY ACHES, HEADACHE, NEW LOSS OF TASTE OR SMELL, SORE THROAT, CONGESTION, RUNNY NOSE, NAUSEA, VOMITING, OR DIARRHEA; AS WELL AS THOSE WITH KNOWN CONTACT OF COVID19 POSITIVE PERSONS IN THE LAST 14 DAYS WILL NOTBE PERMITTEDTO VISIT.

ADULTS ONLY, as no children may visit at this time. This means no one under 16 years of age is permitted. Please be aware that we may LIMITEXIT & REENTRY to prevent contamination and or spread of disease. Overuse of this allowance may cause visitation privileges to be revoked.  Please remember that we are a NON-SMOKING campus, Patients /Visitors will not be permitted to exit/reenter the facility to smoke.

VISITATION WILL BE PERMITTED AS FOLLOWS:

In patients admitted with non-infectious condition or those having surgery, may have 1 visitor at a time while a patient in our facility, during posted visiting hours only.*

Emergency room patients and those completing outpatient testing will not be allowed visitors unless they are considered an essential visitor. Essential visitors are defined as those with:

  1. a pediatric patient,
  2. a visitor responsible to provide healthcare decision-making choices,
  3. or a visitor helping with communication and/or mobility.

Obstetrical Patients admitted to Labor and Delivery who are in labor, may have two visitors stay with them in the OB department throughout delivery. After delivery one visitor may remain during the patient’s hospitalization as the patient’s Guest. All other visitors will be asked to leave after the patient has been transferred to the Medical floor. The patient is responsible for selecting their Guest.  Any designated Guest who has left and returned must do so prior to 8pm as no one will be granted reentry after 8pm. Guests must complete the temperature check/symptom review on reentry. During posted visiting hours, the patient may receive 1visitor at a time, as per the above guidance. *

OutpatientSurgery patients are permitted 1 visitor who may remain with the patient, this may be the designated care giver and/or driver.*

For the safety of everyone, COVID19 or other Infectious condition patients, are NOT be permitted visitors.*

Our hospital staff may enforce limited access to the hallways during peak patient flow times. Hospital personnel may also, without notice, further restrict visitation due to an influx of COVID19 or other infectious patients within the hospital to prevent the possible spread of contagious diseases. This would only be done to protect patients and/or visitors should the situation arise.

*Exceptions for extenuating circumstances such as the end-of-life concerns or other unexpected considerations, may be granted by the Physician, Administrator or Charge nurse.

WARNING, AS POSTED ON ENTRANCE: UNDER GEORGIA LAW, THERE IS NO LIABILITY FOR AN INJURY OR DEATH OF AN INDIVIDUAL ENTERING THESE PREMISES IF SUCH INJURY OR DEATH RESULTS FROM THE INHERENT RISKS OF CONTRACTING COVID-19.  YOU ARE ASSUMING THIS RISK BY ENTERING THESE PREMISES.”

Beginning the following week of March 15, 2021

Our Cafeteria will be opened to the public during limited hours for TO-GO only

Daily Cafeteria Hours:

8:30AM to 9:00AM for breakfast takeout

12:00PM to 1:00PM for lunch takeout

The Irwin County Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop will also open to the public during limited hours.  Please watch for additional information on upcoming operating hours.

Customers of the cafeteria and/or gift shop must wear masks and may enter from the main lobby, however they will not be permitted into patient care areas. **See patient visitation guidelines for more information.
