Job Description

To fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the OR Technician and Central Sterile Technician. The scrub technician must have a thorough understanding of each surgical and scope procedure and possess a knowledge of anatomy and physiology. Must be familiar with the policy and procedure regarding cleaning, autoclaving, wrapping of packs, spore testing and recall system. Must have a clear understanding and practice of aseptic technique.

Job Requirements

MINIMAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:High School Graduate or equivalent, Certified Scrub Tech preferred,CPR certified

Experience:6 months to one year OR experience preferred, but not required.

 

PHYSICAL / MENTAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to think and work effectively under stress with frequent interruptions; to move, sit, stand, walk and bend intermittently throughout the workday, lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.
  • Must possess sight and hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable the applicant to fulfill the requirements of this position.
  • Use of mechanical and technical equipment required for the responsibilities  assigned.
  • External and internal applicants who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential job functions either unaided of or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis.
